Allow us to introduce you to… Softball!

Softball is close relation to Baseball and Rounders, with Softball leagues becoming increasingly popular across the UK. Usually played with ten players per side, and seven innings (in a full game), Softball is a fast paced enjoyable mixed team game suitable for a range of ages.

We know what you’re thinking! Yes, Softball a very similar game to Rounders. The main differences though are the bats are much longer and held with both hands, the pitch layout is different and three balls can be pitched at the batter, as opposed to the single throw per batter found in Rounders. Bases (or plates) are also marked out with mats, rather than the posts.

If you’re looking for a team sport that’s fun, more involved than Rounders but less so than baseball, then you should definitely take a closer look into Softball this summer.
